Updates

OrbitAIO checks for updates on launch and every six hours after that — the second part matters if you leave the app open for days. When a newer version exists, the app offers it: download, restart, done.

Your current version is shown in the app. You can also trigger a check manually.

Windows

Auto-update works normally. The app downloads the new version, closes, installs it and restarts.

macOS

Auto-update does not work on macOS

The macOS build is unsigned, and macOS will not install an update it cannot verify. The app tells you when a new version is out and sends you to the download.

Update manually: download the latest OrbitAIO-<version>-universal.dmg from the releases page and drag it over your existing install in Applications. Your data is untouched — it lives in ~/Library/Application Support/OrbitAIO/, not in the app bundle.

Coming from Energyzed-IO

The old Energyzed-IO app cannot auto-update into OrbitAIO. The old updater swaps a single executable, while OrbitAIO installs as a full application.

Install OrbitAIO from the releases page like a fresh install. On first launch it migrates your existing database, settings and backups automatically.

Don't run both

If the old app is still installed, don't run them at the same time. OrbitAIO detects this and tells you which one to close.

If an update fails

Download the latest release manually and install it over the top. Your data directory is separate from the application, so nothing is lost.
